Vacationing for the unemployed . . .

The boys went on a spontaneous camping trip. Mia and I joined them for the fun at the lake and mealtime, then headed home like sensible people to sleep in REAL beds! The water was warm enough to swim in and the kids had a blast. Mia seemed unaware that she doesn't know how to swim yet. She kept heading further in only to be dragged back out by her party-pooper Mom. She got in some exercise while she was there too.
Vince somehow found seashells at the lake(??)

Mia's first experience with chocolate pudding . . .

Sorry for all the postings lately but it just occurred to me that I have like 5 videos of Mia's entire first year of life. So I'm trying to remember to capture a few more moments of her b/c she is a hoot! (I humbly think!) Ha, ha.

Mia slept till 8am this morning so she is our favorite person in the house for now. Was it the chocolate pudding? I don't know but she will be getting some more tonight just in case!!

A beautiful spring day . . .

We decided to take the kids to a local garden to see some flowers and trees blooming. Vince wanted to take his cowboy hat, insisting that he was a farmer and was going to plant some crops. I couldn't resist putting Mia in her fairy outfit. Vince said, "Oh Mia, you so bootiful! You're a princess. I'll be the king! . . . a king with a farmer hat!" Well, of course!

Happy Easter!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I don't know how the Easter Bunny snuck in while the children slept because Mia did not sleep much at all! And she was so eager to see what he left that she decided to get up for the day at 6am. The kids were pleased with their loot. Vince as usual was just as interested in Mia's goodies as his own.
Can I have this for breakfast Mom?? Thus begins the candy negotiations for the day. If Vince doesn't become a lawyer, he will truly have missed his calling. Look at the serious face with this request.Mia always travels with something in each hand. Now she has two eggs to lug about with her.
Last night, Vince decorated eggs while Mia provided the musical entertainment for the evening. Vince accidently cracked the shell on one of the eggs and discovered that breaking and peeling the eggs was more fun than coloring them. I had to convince him to break the rest the next day.
Our Easter Bunny also left us baby bunnies in our backyard. We watched the Mommy bunny come back to feed the babies last night. Vince wants to play with them soooo bad.

Happy Birthday Mia!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

So glad this is the last monthly shot I will be doing because it has become quite a feat to keep Mia in the chair for a picture.
Mia weighed in at 19lb 15.5 oz at the doctor's office and the doctor is finally disgruntled with her refusal to grow much. She is officially on a high-calorie diet, so send the nachos and ice cream this way!! I thought for sure she would have gained at least a pound after all the cake she ate at her birthday party . . .
Mia was a happy little party girl and didn't want to take a break to nap. She got into the presents as much as she got into her cake.
She even took the time to read her cards (upside down):
Vince racked up on gifts too on Mia's birthday. He got several surprises from family, including a hand-me-down bike from his cousin Ryan. Hope he's not too let down at Mia's next birthday party!
He helped by blowing out Mia's birthday candle and leaving her a special message in a recorded birthday card ("I just love you so . . . . BYE BYE!!")
Happy Birthday, Baby Girl!!!!
